Upgraded to Windows 11 mid-last year, and jeez. I do not like. Compatibility issues and very intrusive.

Even Win 10 was better than this. I miss Win XP :tear:

yeah it sucks hard and i don't think we're going to see the return of the "every other windows release is better" pattern ever again

Pretty much. Microsoft :fuckoff:

Maybe I should just bite the bullet and switch to Linux or some such thing

Ubuntu is very easy to get up and running  Even for the lazy, dumb and unmotivated. Lots of software to find. It's all free :bulb: :ba: File sharing is still active, I can find all I need with transmission, torrentdownload.info or metaltracker :xx:

Been using it for work and on my personal machine about a few months after it came out. It's not too bad actually after deleting the numerous startup items and bloatware (which, as expected, is a lot). I also am using it without signing into an MS account and I don't use MS account specific stuff like the store or anything. I don't care much for any of its new features tbh. It's pretty much functioning as a re-skinned Win10 to me (which in turn, is just a re-skinned Win7 to me).

My only gripe with it is that recently, watching YouTube videos on Google Chrome would sometimes cause the GPU driver to crash and restart. Not sure if this is a Chrome, GPU driver, or OS issue (or a trifecta of all).

I've noticed a few programs seem to have an unpleasant habit of suddenly just not loading for no good reason under Win 11, and requiring reinstallation. Fucking annoying.

What are some of the bloatware examples you're referring to Shadowalk, if you don't mind me asking?

I switched to Fedora on my old 4 year old high end win11 laptop that I thought was dying. Turns out it's the bloated ass OS.

Feels like good old windows 7 or vista, but faster and more stable. I'll never use windows again if I can avoid it. Bought a mac too and I'm thinking of putting linux on it strictly to play games. :redneck:

XP was still pretty trash, it just looked good next to 98 which should've been flat-out illegal to release

for my money 7 is the gold standard of stability and functionality, it was all downhill after that
