i am getting an old leather jacket and some new perfume on saturday
i am going to visit a fellating lover on sunday and we are making brunch. i am baking a chocolate shokupan loaf to make french toast out of it. it is going to be the mondo decadent variety made with a whole vanilla bean and heavy cream and all that jazz

My 18.5 year old cat that I’ve had since she was 1 month old passed away on Jan 19th.
Today my wife and I went to the shelter and came home with two cats. So i got that going for me, which is nice.

My 20 year old is on her last legs with an inoperable dental infection (too old for surgery) and CKD. We got our basement raided by a semi-stray female and her kitten trying to survive the winter and we've been feeding it for a week, trying to capture it for adoption at our local sanctuary. Definitely going to convince the gf to adopt again when our senior is gone.

I am also looking forward to getting a new job - been out of work since last august and it feels lame being feeling useless. Not hopeful right now tho, none of my strategies have been working.
Wanting to buy a new geetar soon, if I can overcome the feeling of guilt of having no income.

Fortunately have enough in savings to survive a few years with no job.

Mayhem next week, exciting. Listening to Mayhem the last couple of weeks, at times I sensed some nausea. A unique reaction to music

I have new baby fish, born here

Looking forward to see them grow up and get fat. Of a different order than cats but still they touch me

I purchased an apartment not too long ago and hope to fix the paperwork at the city hall soon. It's at a decent spot near the business district but there's no parking thus I will not be moving into it myself. Once I got the paperwork done, I'll proceed to fix the place and have it rented out then I'll use the income I get there to buy another apartment to do the same or use the money to start some sort of business venture. The goal is to establish (or at the very least, plant the seeds to) a consistent alternate source(s) of income.

my boss has been doing this in recent years, buying small apartment units / house and renting them. if it wasn't absurdly expensive i'd do the same thing.

a nontrivial part of the reason housing is so expensive is precisely because of all the people doing exactly that
should be a 200% tax on rental income, imo

congrats shadowalk but if you're entering the game make sure you're a decent landlord
australia real estate is fucked beyond belief, three decades of policies encouraging it as an investment

The cats are adjusting well - they get along with the each other which is great. the dog tolerates them - they had one scuffle but otherwise they're fine.
people have kept the pressure on ICE. they've changed tactics, but they're still here. The goons I've seen have a look of utter defeat and demoralization in their eyes. you love to see it. I am looking forward to the day they actually leave (and contrary to recent news - many here will believe it when they see it).
there are a number of concerts coming up in March and April that I am looking forward to going to. I'm glad the bands haven't cancelled any shows with everything happening here, people will need the release.
It's also been weirdly warm the last couple weeks, hoping we get a little cold weather and snow cause otherwise it's just dead grass and bare trees until May.... so looking forward to more cold weather haha.

waiting on a background check to clear and have applied for a concealed carry permit (which might be awhile, they've had a 76% increase vs the normal amount of applications in the last few weeks according to the county). a fellating lover who is way more into guns than I sold me on getting a glock v19 for home/personal defense. good times. looking forward to taking some classes with the wife and hitting the range.

a shotgun is a much better choice for home defense, hard to miss
i don't love the glock safe action thing but it's less to think about when/if you need to pull the track
