Chances sre I am not the only one with a difficult to treat health condition

I have chronic migraines and those not in the know even common treatments like Botox (i just got it after months of me and my doctor fighting insurance over it) are not considered standard care do I deal with a lot if denials because insurance not doctors decide what is best for your health. I have to fight any time we change meds.
Often meaning you wait weeks to get treatment. I guess they’d rather you be in bed 4 to 5 days a week.

I get a lot of the new meds are expensive but migraines are basically throw shit at a wall and see what sticks and often hit their worst in your 30s for some unknown reason. I have friends and family with autoimmune issues and that is equally as difficult with insurance since there's a lot of off label uses that you have to fight for.

Its bullshit and I dont have a lot of places to bitch about it so here i am bitching

Im positive some of you have shit to bitch about regarding insurance too common enemy in the us.

i don't even have insurance which is probably a mistake but fuck everything about it. my paycheck was garnished for three years over medical debt in my early 20s. i had insurance at the time but it didn't cover an ER visit

a little over a year ago i went to an emergency clinic after hurting my ankle. all i got was an examination but i later got a bill for a boot and a flu shot?!?

i've been paying for things out of pocket for awhile since i'm in a good financial situation for the time being. i did spend a shit load in 2023 for a little bit of therapy and that sucked but it was still cheaper than paying for insurance for the whole year. i know i'll spending a lot on dental work soon but the insurance plans i can afford wouldn't cover it anyway

I've managed to keep decent insurance through my life, but I never use it because actually going to the doctors is so god damn expensive if something is actually wrong.

The dental insurance I have is the only insurance I ever felt was worthwhile to have when I’ve had to use it. Twice a year cleanings are included at no cost and when I had to get major work done (including having my wisdom teeth removed), I only had to pay like $200 out of pocket that wasn’t covered.

Now my health insurance (no matter who the company is) on the other hand fucking sucks. I’ve only ever reached the deductible once in my entire life and it often makes me think it might have been cheaper and easier to just pay out of pocket considering what gets deducted from my paycheck each month….

Too much of the country is so fucking dumb that they vote against bettering their lives. Then you've got the insurance companies lining the pockets of politicians to keep anything that would hurt their bottom line from passing.

But the current political system is perfectly fine for like a couple hundred people, so we'll just keep things running the way they are.

I pay because I have an expensive chronic condition so it makes sense

People who do not have health concerns or dependents I get it Id just be scared of a catastrophic things like a hospital stay. My one brush with that really taught me to watch my funds.

We have an incompetent government who wastes money set aside for social services (look at social security) so i doubt we will ever have a functioning healthcare system
