We got ICE rolling around in my city. Already made 2 arrests at the Latin grocery store down the street from my house. Reports of them patrolling around one of the local high schools that's in our "downtown" area too.
Shit is fucked y'all. I live close enough to DC that if it gets taken out I hope I go with it.

i'm mostly just readjusting to normal life again. the whole 'roommate' ordeal really fucked me up. still a couple loose ends there (i am owed a significant sum of money, and i am in the process of decontaminating the other bedroom)
i finished reading a book this week and started another, watched some movies, had to work in the office a bunch, got drunk last night, baking a cawfee cake currently

Thank you. It's been rough. We were best friends, and she was like a second mother to me when I was little. (She was almost 12 years older.)

I am leaning into my hobbies a lot more these days and trying to not get bogged down with the political shitshow that will almost certainly result in losing my job.
Went to see Nile/Psycroptic last week. :ndmg:
Still squatting canaries and doing geetar stuff at home.

I'm waiting for the exodus of government jobs to hit. Maryland is going to be completely fucked when that happens. Federal and federal contractor jobs are the #1 employer in the state, so I'll let you imagine how bad things are gonna look here.

Yep I'm one of those. My facility doesn't have enough office space for all of us and they're pushing a RTO, same at other agencies. They're trying what they can to get people to quit before firing, which is harder and more costly.

My buddy's grandparents did a daily commute from Martinsburg - Hagerstown - DC. I sure as fuck hope you aren't doing similar.
I'd wait as long as possible before doing that dude. But if you have to make the move let me know and I can point you in the right direction of where to live

Oh hell naw it would be a 4 hour commute each way - I am not doing that in any shape or fashion. Appreciate the rec but I have a few back up plans to delay it while I look for an entirely different job, other issues have had me looking at the job market for a few months now. And uh this admin is probably gonna try to axe my agency anyway.

the US and its weapons stockpiles are too depleted and stretched-thin for an actual formal war involving a full-scale military assault
so, give it a couple weeks, probably

that's all bluster, cartels aren't going anywhere because the illicit drug trade is too important to foreign policy, and the domestic destabilization is equally important to domestic political security. if you don't believe that, just reflect for a moment on the fact that bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea had the US government's promotion and endorsement of cryptocurrency higher on the priority list than this little stunt.
