yes, the american system is a ratchet that only turns to the right, it's not gonna get any better from here.

political commentators and pundits who've spent the last eight years clamoring for a return to normalcy mostly cling to a delusion that it ever existed here. america has always been unhinged, and that accelerated a thousandfold after 9/11. they just want a return to being ignorant about that, a return to not having to be reminded of the unseemly aspects of imperial reality and their complicity in it.

yeah, and it's been going on a long time. dems' russia bloodlust mostly stems from the crossover of vicky nuland (wife of robert "you need to do 9/11 to usher in a new era of US military global dominance" kagan) during the obama admin. so i guess it's only appropriate that they also get the MVP of doing 9/11 on board!
