How will this impact your attendance at the U.S. Morbid Angel tour, and what type/size bra will you be wearing?

Just throw a brick at the phone counter, then run for it. Burn the hat and clothes, then grow a beard.

Out of curiosity does she work as well? Any role in paying the bills?

Same its stress on folks over something silly

Its like the expectation that the man must pay for everything, men struggle just like women.

she makes US$3,586 a month after a recent 8% increase because of inflation, ever since she got this job last year she has been paying 50% of all expenses including rent :benton:

now ironman tell me all about your wife and her job situation, out of curiosity :grimsanta:

also update: i have talked her down to a google pixel, but the deal is not clinched yet

i would never ever spend more than $300-$400 on a phone for myself, i break them basically every year or more

once i dropped one in a toilet

once i dropped one while riding my motorcycle fast on the road

once one fell out of my longyi when i was running through the rain on the street

A pixel 7 is a good choice. I might trade in my pixel 5 to get that in a month.

My wife works as well. We split our expenses proportionally based on the exact % share of total income. We make decent money but expenses have gone up so much since we bought a house. So I feel a bit insecure given the economic situation in the US today. If either of us lost a job we'd go broke pretty quick. Buying a house has brought a whole new level of stress.

I have never bought a new phone in my life. One was always passed down to me by my parents. Have my wife's old samsung S7 now and happy with it. It's just a phone and I'm not planning on buying any new ones either.

You know. I was reading Luke's post here a few days ago and thinking, "what is this gu.y making such a big deal about, just get her a phone, find a compromise, argue less...etc". Maybe being a little smug and coming across like I was considering his situation from a birds eye view. But peering into my own self, I have much more frequent and ten times worse arguments over stuff we're planning to buy like furniture for the house. So my situation is probably even more fucked up than Luke's. Is this normal, I don't know.

If a 2000 dollar phone is a priority..... then that's not normal.
Hell, it being even an option isn't normal.

Maybe if you're very rich and 2k is some change to you.

Yes my parents, grandparents, aunts uncles all argue over house spending esp repairs and upkeep. All of them have been married over 30 years and still (to my knowledge) love each other.

I argue with caregivers over spending on food and outings. I feel $35 for one morning breakfast out is too much but others think its reasonable. My brother lives off of ssi and what I or my parents cover for him so it is a fixed income.Room mates, significant others, family it does not matter if you live in the same household and share financial responsibility arguments happen. Finances are a huge stressor to all.

I don’t have anything to contribute to this other than I just thought I lost my iphone - retraced all my steps and couldn’t find it in the house. Gave up looking and went outside with the dog and found it sitting in the snow. Still works despite being half buried and it being 20f outside.

35 on breakfast is easy if you go to one of those bougie brunch joints or get a couple cocktails

It's so normal to make your own breakfast, lunch, diner here in Europe... it's insane to me how much money is spent on food outdoors in the US.

convenience is the way of life here

nearly every restaurant sells breakfast these days, even taco bell

but also there's nothing like hitting up waffle house at 2am after a late concert, my southern mabbers know
