hm, i tend to avoid the corona stuff because it is such a bottomless swamp of crankery. reading the english-language material on their website seems to me to be at odds with the 2/5 statement on the grand-jury website. on their website they have staked out the bog-standard position that US capital has held since early 2020 - the virus is of no real concern and public health measures should be banned so as to not interfere with the ordinary functioning of markets and commerce. so when their publicity arm, this grand-jury website holds forth that in fact there is a grand conspiracy in play, i find that very hard to buy because of how utterly incoherent it is. global capitalists have perpetrated this nefarious plandemic scheme, but the underlying prescription seems to be... do exactly what capitalists want?

after having spent (and continuing to spend) an unhealthy amount of my free time studying postwar history, i have certainly become much more sympathetic to conspiratorial views of how capitalist society is organized. but demonstrating conspiracy, or even being able to make informed speculation about the possibility of such requires careful, credible research and documentary evidence, and from what i have skimmed from this group i don't really think they have the juice.

This was the first day so I'm very curious about all the evidence they are planning to present in the following days.

The WEF and the EU here is definitely something that concerns me a lot. This private organization (WEF) not chosen democratically is practising an enormous amount of influence and planning unto and with our own political leaders per country. And all of this is public information available on their own website, so quite a few topics are not conspiracy theories at all.

i agree, the WEF/davos set ought to be viewed with uhh, extreme skepticism at a minimum. i am absolutely on-board with the view that these networks representing the apex predators of the capitalist order exercise an inordinate degree of control over society. but i think a lot of care needs to be exercised around these discourses because they frequently veer into territory that ultimately serves reactionary ends (this subject in particular tends to be a major feeder for junk theories like illuminati or jewish control of the world).

and just to be clear, i am actively hostile to the notion of 'conspiracy theories' being categorically false. a fun fact about the public denigration of conspiracy as a subject generally is that its origins like in a CIA domestic propaganda campaign to discredit critics of the warren report!
