If by "ready for the holiday season" you mean, have I prepared a budgeting spreadsheet with all the line items, with online links to each of the product pages, with current prices and forecasted discounted prices, as well as accounting for what the variable options add up to in several options, then the answer is yes.
I am buying furniture, household appliances, and various equipment.

We eat and drink a lot. Chinese food is popular because they are always open with christmas. And we have the oliebol, deep fried dough with sugar. We have a second chistmas day, I think that is unusual We do the same stuff twice just to be sure

what is gift giving like for you? it's kind of ridiculous here, kids commonly get tons of presents. i used to get absolutely spoiled on christmas. i kind of wish it was acceptable to only give one or two gifts but it's always felt like (to me) that its expected you need to give a lot

There is a competing saint and he has his birthday earlier in the month. In a way we do the same thing threefold. We do the gift giving mainly with the other saint's day and less so with christmas. Because we're all spoiled by then. And historically I think christmas for us was a day off with food and drink but no presents at all. Commerce disagreed
