yeah rents are obscene everywhere, they're skyrocketing in my city now. i'm really getting the itch to move but i can't afford to give up the deal i'm getting now.

3k for dumpy studios here and we’re far away from the city, it’s gotta burst someday.

Fucking companies buying up homes and artificially inflating home prices and rent for everyone.

Same shit is happening here.

Social rent houses are affordable, but you need to tick a lot of boxes to be eligible.
After that, there's a huge price gap to the "next step up" from that, which is either smaller apartments/studio's or bigger houses that were bought by investors or companies and then rented out for crazy prices.

We're super lucky with the current house purchase.

I just checked, and my old 700sq foot NoHo apartment which was literally next to a burned out crack house is going for $1700 now

My last apartment I rented for $825 a month and now it's almost $1,500.

The woman and I are in the process of upgrading to a 2 bed/2 bath apartment with the same rental company and it’s only $1,025/month. We could get one for $995 but that ones not on the top floor which is 100% mandatory

So I don’t have a herd of folk/animals stomping around above me. I will never live on first or second floor ever again.

Finally managed to find a 2 bed 1100sqft apt for $1350 today.

I submit that since 2019, apartment rent on average for 2 bedroom apartments has got to have jumped $500 across the Dallas region in 2021.

We just secured the 2 bed 2 bath 1,170sq feet for $1,025. Move in September 1st.
