So now that bars and restaurants are opening again

Will you go back to them?

Sit in or outside for some drinks or dinner?

We went out for sushi 2 weeks ago, which was very nice to be able to do again.

I just hope concerts will pick up again soon without too many restrictions.

Yes, brother and I are both vaccinated so it’s safe to go out and about. There’s a mental health aspect many forget about, nothing in life is 109% risk free.

i've gone to restaurants throughout the pandemic and sat outside mostly or away from everyone. i probably went out way more than i should have but i was always masked up and using hand sanitizer constantly

in my smallish town we had some places close down indoor dining but drive-thrus/delivery have always been an option. things didn't seem all that different from my perspective. though i underestimated just how important it was to people to go out and eat/shop/gather/etc

Yeah, it all is very different from place to place, town to town, state to state and country to country.

Everything had been closed down here for almost a year. Just a few drive-in things were open but that's all crap food.

But now everything's opened up again. With some restrictions still in place.

side tangent: do you have absurd amounts of fast food restaurants and chain retail stores where you live? there are about 30,000 people where i live and we have 10 pizza places, 3 mcdonalds, 4 subways, 3 major retail stores, etc. if one of those places had weird covid restrictions, you could find an alternative that didn't

Definitely in and around the bigger cities. So we just moved from Tilburg, which has about 220,513 residents to Alphen, which has about 4,250. So that's a major difference.
This town is just very small with a supermarket, 3 bars and 4 restaurants.

These restaurants only use local produce from farmers here so everything is pretty damn good and fresh.

No fastfood chains or stores like we have in the big cities.

I absolutely love it here.

Went out maybe 2 or 3 times to eat when they started lifting restrictions on restaurants. Bellied up to a bar last time I was in Pennsylvania and god damn was that a good feeling.

All of the local brewery taprooms are up and running now, can't wait to go out and grab a few beers at some of my favorite spots.

I don't know that I want to live in a place that small but I am ready for a move. A place that small around here just doesn't seem doable unless you didn't have to work or could work from home. Could for sure go for a much more scaled down version of my current city.

Just kinda waiting for the housing market to even out. Know a few people who are looking at work, they'll line something up during the day and before they leave it's already sold.

I've eaten at a few, it's still weird but I did enjoy it. Luckily the restaurants were not crowded. still a little hesitant about large crowds - though I am looking forward to seeing concerts again.

Definitely understand your point. Keep in mind that this country is much smaller and perhaps even smaller than your entire state.
So I can get to Tilburg by car and be there for all the stores and stuff I would need, within 15 minutes.

Housing market is a bubble waiting to burst. Large companies but up entire neighborhoods to rent out it’s tucked up.

we go out for meals 4-6 times a week i reckon at the moment, some good venues around

chiang mai still doesn't allow alcohol sales at restaurants, since the last COVID wave was sparked by rich folks and cops drinking and whoring at clubs in bangkok. so no bars yet but it has to change at some point
