Backdoor healthcare?

I heard today the US president has come up with a deal to pass universal healthcare through the backdoor. There is no voting, no debating, simply passing. Usually this method which bipasses congress is done with tax increases/decreases such as the Bush tax cuts but never with polarizing issues such as this.



I'm not upset with healthcare reform (though I don't think government is the way to go) I am upset with him rushing this without debate and without thought. I'm worried it's going to end up like medicare underfunded and complete shit leaving million worse off than before.



Thoughts on his method?

Universal healthcare?

The news broke this afternoon, from what I understand they just need majority vote not the normal 60 which is slightly less infuriating but still they didn't have a single conservative so this proposed plan is completely partison. We need to think long and hard about this issue not rush to it especially in these already economically unstable times.

I'm not even sure debating until October is enough time if that's the case (which I hope it is)

saying that they didn't have any conservative support isn't exactly a meaningful statement when there's probably all of about three of those between the house and the senate. social conservatives don't count

I think the Federal Reserve should be abolished.

There would be no economic crises and hence Obama's universal healthcare thing wouldn't be that big of a deal.

ok, so what is this mythological perfect monetary system you're proposing here that will arise after the the fed is abolished? surely, you don't mean to suggest a return to the gold standard. what is the fundamental difference between the two that makes universal healthcare plausible under one system, but implausible under another?

The crisis is a combo government, banks, federal reserve, and the consumer It's everyone's actions all combined.
