Solipsism

When I was a little kid around the years from 12-14 I had thoughts like these and believed it was true for a long time, I never knew it actually had a name though. Incredibly strange thoughts indeed. Thoughts anyone?

In film studies, Solipsism also refers to the process of creating an image in a viewers mind without actually showing it.
For example, people are shown standing at a train station. Then a whistle sound is played and the viewer automatically assumes that a train is pulling in.
Or something to that effect.
