Hey Pink Lizard

Post by Teignub »

So our recent discussions inspired me to start a new game in Arcanum but for some reason its incredibly laggy on my pc. it lags when i move my character and especially in the inventory screens. this is incredibly lame because it takes me like fucking 5 mins to trade a bunch of shit to my NPCs when it should take seconds. it also takes way too long to walk down the street in any of the cities or towns. it has reduced my gameplay to traveling by the auto-walk feature.

do you have or have had this problem? any suggestions to fix it? I dont remember this being a problem on my old pc which had XP.

yeah, i don't remember having problems on XP. i plan on reinstalling it (along with VtM:Bloodlines with the latest unofficial patch) as soon as i finish the first batch of exams and Dragon Age. can't wait to replay that shit :xx:

anyway, try the unofficial patches over at terra arcanum (latest unofficial patch, high res patch, HQ music, HQ townmaps)

i downloaded and installed all those but im still having lag problems. the new right click feature to transfer items between inventories cuts back some of the problems, but there is still much lag.

whatever. its not going to stop me from playing. Elf Mage and Halfling tech/high-charisma duder for the win :xx:

try installing newer gpu drivers (or roll back to an older version). i had a similar problem with fallout (2) a couple of years ago and reinstalling drivers solved it
