so hbw, what kind of dishes do you like experimenting with? i've seen a few of your recipes on the mabb book. whats your recent interest? mine is curry and i just learned the frittata. and i must say i nailed my first frittata. no room for improvement on the egg formation. now its just about working with different toppings and flavors.

Never really been interested in frittatas. Let's see...what am I interested in doing? Uhm, right now I kinda try dishes as they come to me. Pizza is one of them. I also want to do a green chile. I do lots of different things with chicken and beef. Kinda hard to narrow it down. I also do some stuff with sashimi-style fish when I can get my hands on it.



I use a lot of meat in my cooking, so I tend to center what I do around that. Recently made some pretty amazing ham steaks and black-eyed peas.

Language is flawed in a way as a method of debating as stuff isn't as rigourously defined as in Maths. Even if at the outset both parties agree as to what they will mean by x, y, and z. . it is still far from ideal.



In Maths you start with a statement/statements and proceed with each line,"therefore this", "therefore this", etc, until you arrive at the answer. If somebody fucks up in this setting it's easy to point out. "You fucked up there, there, and there. This is why you are wrong. Here's what you should have done, and here's the correct answer." Such a person is unlikely to try and pass off the same original flawed progression again (either literally the same, or phrased slightly differently). If they do, is more readily visable to everyone that that is what they have done.



When people debate with language, and somebody points out (analogously to above) where the person fucked up in their reasoning, why what they said isn’t valid, and what the actual logical progression should be, and the conclusion it actually leads to, etc. . people seem to manage to basically keep repeating the same point again and again anyway.



Maths > most things.

yah, i don't think i've ever successfully participated in a conversation like that. but it is clear when a conversation is formal and logical. its quite pleasant to see the it progress.

i've thought this same thing, especially with that crazy multi-demensional shit in theoretical physics. but then again, i don't know the math and how you'ld arive at stuff like that. i'm sure they have explanations.

Coming up with mathematical models and taking them to their limits to see what they predict, so that we may check to see if they predict correctly, is kind of important. I don't think any Physicist will claim that their particular model is true, if it's not supported by experiment.

of course its important. its frustrating for me though because i'm just not even close to being able to understand that stuff. i can read "the universe in a nutshell" over and over, but i feel like i need to know the math to really understand it. and that waved by by to me a long time ago.

I wouldn't feel bad if you don't understand Relativity or Quantum Mechanics from reading popular science books. I don't think anyone would. Pretty sure you need the Maths.
