Graphics Cards

Okay, I have a fairly decent (in my eyes) PC, dual core 2700mhz, 4gb memory, 500gb hd and from what I gather geforece 725 nforce630a like built in graphics. Girlfriend plays on Sims 3 and it runs 'ok' on the lowest settings, but can get a bit jittery.
I know jack shit about the innards of computers, so recommend me a decent, low priced graphics card, no more than £50?

You have a PCIe 16x slot yes?
Before you start looking at any cards, look at your PC's internal power source(big b0x where to which the mains is connected) and check the sticker on it for the following: wattage, efficiency(if any), and total amps on the +12V rail(VERY important). Write them down. They're going to determine what video card you can buy that isn't going to require upgrading your power source along with the video card. Also check if you have a PCIe power connector for graphics cards available, or any spare molex connectors(like the power connectors on your drives).

get any ATI Radeon HD4650 (basically, they just rebranded the most powerful chip of the previous generation. get any of the big names: Sapphire, Asus, Gigabyte, Powercolor etc...) or if you can stretch that budget a further 5quid, get this
nvidia 9600gt

Is that the one that doesn't require additional power from a PCIe connector? If so that one is pretty cool, I might get that card whenever HL2 Ep3 comes out, which by the time Valve get their lazy asses to release it, will be worth peanuts.

i just hope it doesn't turn into another daikatana or, worse, DN forever. i cannot, for the life of me, remember a single game that was in development for so long that turned out to be good or that delivered 30% of what was promised (yeah, i'm looking at you, STALKER!

)

you know what, I have never played daikatana, I have always wanted to download and play it. I guess I will do that just now.
