couchsurfing, vagabonding, etc.

anyone have experience with things of this sort?

I have a burning urge to set out on the road - or perhaps on foot - and leave the old career obsessing, money-scrounging life behind.

No idea how to get started, though. I'd like to avoid ending up like a real bum, or being picked up by a bunch of rapists who lust after the supple goods under my skirt.

every last couch-surfer i've ever known has been a complete douchebag. ridiculous sense of entitlement, no civility whatsoever, etc.

if you are OK with being despised by basically everyone you will come in contact with for the duration of your experiment, go for it, i guess. you're not retarded so maybe there's a chance you'll fare better, but the odds are not in your favor. if you want to succeed with the whole being a homeless bum thing, i sincerely suggest you bring lots of cash along for the ride.

i am going to offer some practical advice now:

no, you may not have a bite of that person's sandwich; what kind of question is that, anyway?

no, you do not live here, no matter how accommodating your hosts have been, you have zero say in how things run, day to day.

yes, you will happily do whatever it is some random person is asking you to do. you're a fucking hobo who contributes nothing to anything, you have no dignity, so stop whining and fucking get to it already. if that is a problem, you can kindly and hastily get the fuck out and find a new couch to settle in.
