its a virus posing as windows security updates/virus protection. ive tried all kinds of shit to get rid of it. anyone have any ideas?

tell them what's going on, what the virus is doing ect. those guys have helped me many many times.



they will usually ask that you download and run a program called HiJack this and post a log on the forum.

I got that virus before advast cleared it up for me. If you have not try downloading advast it's free and easy to use.

Try Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. If the installation isn't blocked it does a damn fine job of removing malware. Download the free version.

i have that running now and its already found about 5 things that nothing else did. im gonna have to let it run overnight while im at work. its only at like 4% .

I recommend this too over Avast. This one finds more malware than any other I have tried.

I downloaded anti-Malware software that turned out to be Malware. I Googled it and had to download some OTHER anti-Malware to get rid of the Malware posing as anti-Malware and ended up reinstalling Windows four times.

I use Avast and it works pretty well. AVG is pretty good too, along with SuperAntiSpywareRemover. But if the virus is still there after all your scans I really recommend posting on that forum.

avast did the job.
