Stanley Kubrick is accused of having produced much of the footage for Apollo 11 and 12.[105] It has been claimed, without any evidence, that in early 1968 while 2001: A Space Odyssey (which includes scenes taking place on the Moon) was in post-production, NASA secretly approached Kubrick to direct the first three Moon landings. In this scenario the launch and splashdown would be real but the spacecraft would have remained in Earth orbit while the fake footage was broadcast as "live" from the lunar journey. Kubrick did hire Frederick Ordway and Harry Lange, both of whom had worked for NASA and major aerospace contractors, to work with him on 2001. Kubrick also used some 50 mm f/0.7 lenses that were left over from a batch made by Zeiss for NASA. However, Kubrick only acquired this lens for Barry Lyndon (1975). The lens was originally a still-photo lens and required modifications to be used for motion filming.

The conspiracy theories of the Apollo 11 moon landing being faked are a crock of fuck.

And even if they aren't a crock, I'll believe that the moon landing happened anyway. It's a cute bit of recent history.

I also believe they were there. Perhaps the quality of the footage shot on the spot was poor, and they faked it, but they were there, i'm sure. They just needed the proof. (race with Russia etc.)

The footage on tv when it happened was so horrible because of all the relays and signal degradation that occurred. The raw tapes have been found and cleaned up. They were played on tv the other night. They look fantastic!

people that believe the moon landing was faked (let's call them Mooners) are up there with are up there with the 9/11 Truthers, the Birthers (retards that still debate Obama's legitimacy as a US citizen and would more than likely continue to do so even if more proof were presented because they are a bunch of racist hicks) and the Teabaggers (the recent formation of a bunch of racists [doubt it? go to one of their meetings) anti-tax crackpots in america) (some of them are one in the same). sorry, been worked up about just how many retards there are in this country lately. it's really sickening and they've all been showing their true colors lately.
