Server Change

MABB has a sexy new server, unlimited e-mail addresses, 10GB of storage and 200GB a month of bandwidth. We are going to need about one zillionth of that.
What we don't have yet is the database restored (I have to do this at work as I use roaming wireless.) I was told the old site would die on April 28 by the old hosts but they pulled the plug earlier and unfortunately I didn't save the avatars or smilies.
Aaanyway, a new leaf, start anew, etc etc.

Bad news. I have attempted to restore the DB through phpbb3, through phpMyAdmin and through the control panel of the hosts. I have uploaded it directly and linked to it online. I get various error messages about SQL syntax being broken and one message stating that the file is corrupted.
I am going to try and find a way to at least restore the users table. If anyone knows of ways to recover 'corrupt' SQL databases, please let me know!
