did the whole early vote thing here for the local election and they had ranked choice voting for candidates on the ballot (for multiple positions too, not just mayor).
jesusfuckingchrist this needs to be the national standard. no more party nominees, no more conventions, force all the candidates to compete with each other even if they are all the same party.
I guaranfuckingtee we wouldn't have ended up with some of our last several presidents if a system like this had been in place at the national level since the moderates wouldn't have to vote for "well I guess since they're my party I don't have much choice"
